Who are we?

We are one of the UK's largest journalism training organisations. During 2007, we trained more than 600 journalists, from more than 100 newspapers, radio stations and magazines, including Manchester Evening News, the Liverpool Post and Echo and the Birmingham Post and Mail.

We have students working on national and local newspapers, Sky News, Sport Sports, the BBC and local radio stations across the country. Many of them are going through a career change – others are raw beginners!

Cleland Thom has many years experience in journalism training. He writes regular articles on training issues for the Press Gazette. And many of his former trainees now work for national newspapers or hold senior positions on magazines, regional newspapers or radio stations. He is a faculty member of the Society of Editors and the Chartered Institute of Journalists. He is also legal adviser to the Manchester Evening News, Trader Media Group, The Local Radio Company and Greater Manchester Weekly Newspapers.
